I'm not always complaining....

Today was a fairly decent day. My co-worker had a migraine and went home so I only had 12 kids today. They were all the younger set mostly so it was pretty good as far as not listening and hitting goes. The older boy wasn't there and neither were the school age kids. All in all it was an easy day.

Of course someone had to come in to rub me the wrong way. One of my new girls "Aniyah" is Muslim/Black. Her mother spoils her/father is too tough and a general asshole. Well today when I came in the little girl was wearing tights, and a shirt that I thought they were trying to pass off as a dress. I thought it was odd so I mentioned it to my co-teacher, but she said she was like that and didn't have any pants in her cubby so we let it go.

Fast forward to this afternoon when dad comes to pick her up. He's livid she doesn't have pants on so I go digging and apparently they fell under the cubbies beside a pillow. Turns out after I called my coteacher that she didn't have them on when she came in either, but was playing in the dress up area. So she took them off to play and didn't put them back on. Well how the hell were we supposed to know if neither of us were here when she got here?

Mom called my boss and went on and on about it probably because the dad came home all pissed. Seriously it's not that big of deal, it almost looked like a dress. These are the same parents who don't make their daughter listen to the teachers and clean up after herself. I have 22 other kids to watch/keep from killing eachother/entertain so I'm not too fazed by this. But naturally he wants a meeting and so we'll have one next week.

Then last week mom comes up to me because "Aniyah" told her to "zip her lip" BWHAHAHAHAH! I tell her that when she's talking in my circle time. But I guess her mom was telling her stuff she didn't want to hear and she said it all rudelike to her mom. Which I still think is hilarious, but mom wanted to know who it came from, blah, blah, blah.

I almost hope they take her out of there. Seriously, if they want her every move and thought monitored perhaps she will be better off in home care where she can have more individual attention. I'm only one person and cannot give 23 different kids my undivided attention all day long. /rant/drivel. lol
